LittleBigPlanet looked to be a sure hit when it was first announced at GDC. The time that was spent perfecting the product only made gamers that much more desparate and anxious to get their hands on the title. As the release date neared, there were the fortunate members of the Playstation community that were able to get their hands on the beta. I was one of them and I was severely impressed. So much so, that I even told my cynical friend to give the game a try. He’s a fellow law student and he did not think that LBP was going to change gaming as we know it. He was wrong. Days after playing the beta nonstop he calls me and asks which of the user created levels had I spent most of my time in. I only laughed and refused to answer his question until he apologized for doubting MM’s masterpiece.
Let’s look at today. I was sent a notification while on the metro that my copy of LBP was delivered at my house. My first thought was to get off the metro and go home and play. You have to remember that I have 3 classes today and in the middle of moving, but what I truly wanted to do with my time was play the addictive game. Why do I and other law students love LBP? It is for the same reason why the rest of the world loves LBP, it is pure fun. You cannot turn down pure fun. So if you are a student, a professional, a worker, or just anyone with some type of responsibility, be sure to not forget your duties on this planet due to your love for LittleBigPlanet.
