Good news for Boxee users! A recent posting on their blog indicates that they are preparing to provide support for numerous devices other than computers, having just secured $6M in financing.
This includes game consoles!
…To make Boxee more accessible for a mainstream consumer it’s important for us to get Boxee embedded into connected TVs and Blu-Ray players, game consoles and set-top boxes. We’re already talking to device makers to ensure Boxee works on a variety of platforms for 2010.
For the unaware, Boxee is a free streaming media service that is highly customizable and also has social networking abilities. It is currently in the alpha stage and available for free for any x86 PC running Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, and even AppleTV.
