David Cage, head of Quantic Dream, the development team behind the highly anticipated thriller, Heavy Rain, recently spoke about his studio’s game. And what’s interesting about this title is that it gives players complete control over the game’s overarching storyline.
It has been known for some time now that the four main characters, depending on the choices the player makes, can potentially die. However, Cage revealed in an interview with EDGE magazine that if all four main characters die, it’s game over.
“When all of the characters die, the story ends – that’s quite a sad ending.”
“There are movies with happy endings and sad endings. In Heavy Rain, it is up to the player to tell his own story and decide what story he wants to tell. This kind of ending cannot happen before the last third of the game, so the experience won’t be too significantly shortened.”
Heavy Rain is due out exclusively for the PS3 sometime in 2010.
