Insomniac Games Looking for a Few Good Men and Women

It’s no secret that Insomniac Games is already working on their next title, as the company is known for their amazing ability to pump out Triple A titles year after year, only on the PlayStation 3. Some interesting job listings have popped up their official website and you might just want to check them out.

For their North Carolina Studios, Insomniac is looking for a gameplay programmer with “Console programming experience, especially on the PS3” and an animator who will “work on a fun AAA title with great characters!”.

For their California location, they need an FX Artist, cinematic audio specialist, and a senior gameplay programmer in networking, who has had “Online console game experience, particularly PS3 , Xbox Live, or PC gaming a plus…” The only current-gen Insomniac title that has online play as a key factor is the Resistance Series…hmmm.

Could this hint that development is gearing into over-drive for Resistance 3? It hasn’t been officially revealed, but it was discovered last year that a Resistance 3 billboard was spotted during filming for the movie, ‘Battle: Los Angeles’ in Louisiana by an avid fan of the series. Only one problem…the movie’s release is set for early 2011, so unless this is just some synergy between the Sony divisions, could Insomniac be releasing a all-new IP  in 2010 and have R3 ready for sometime in 2011?

If you look at their release schedule, it would seem another Ratchet and Clank game would make sense in 2011, but with A Crack in Time ending the current major storyline and critics complaining of the series growing ‘stale,’ Insomniac might just go back to the drawing board for the next entry in their fantastic series.

For those of you who might be interested in applying for any of the job openings, visit the Official Insomniac Games website here. With GDC and E3 coming up in the first 6 months of the year, we shouldn’t have to wait too long until we know what Insomniac Games has been working on.
