PhyreEngine for the PlayStation 3 is an advanced graphics rendering engine used by developers on a number of Blu-Ray disc based titles as well as downloadable games from the PlayStation Store. Now Sony is bringing PhyreEngine to the PSP to “make use of the strengths of the platform”.
Sony has just revealed PhyreEngine for the PSP today at GDC. Teiji Yutaka, Senior Vice President, Technology Platform of SCEI had this to say about this latest development:
“We’re very happy to see the continued popularity of PhyreEngine with the global game developer community,”
“PhyreEngine for PSP was developed in response to requests from the game developer community, and we hope that the release of the PSP version demonstrates our commitment and support for game developers on all our platforms.”
PhryeEngine for the PSP and a game demo “Tunnel Vision” will be on display all week at the SCE booth at GDC. We’ll keep you updated with any further information coming from GDC.
