Despite making its way to the Xbox 360, Metal Gear Solid: Rising has countless PlayStation owners waiting in anticipation, and for good reason. The game will reportedly focus around Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of the Patriots’ star, Raiden. However, this isn’t the old, wimpy Raiden. This is the white-blooded cyborg Raiden from Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Rising will likely focus on explaining the events that led up to Raiden’s demise and revival into a cyborg ninja.
Not much has been revealed about the game since its first appearance at E3, but Hideo Kojima has broken the deadlock by revealing some new information on the title.
Speaking via Twitter, the mastermind behind the beloved Metal Gear Solid franchise spoke briefly about Rising. Kojima also let loose a few facts regarding the upcoming handheld title: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
The next MGS… “RISING.” this game will create new users, be developed by the new generation, a new MGS, but on the other hand, “PW” is made by Hideo Kojima, a new but classical MGS. PW is a new type of game design and experimental for future endeavors. So it is hard to say it will finish with one game…
Inevitably Peace Walker will be an important game in the hugely popular series, and Kojima fully believes so. Hopefully Metal Gear Solid: Rising can follow in the extremely large footsteps imprinted onto the PlayStation 3 by MGS4. Let’s hope this wont be a case of a game being held back by the confines of the DVD format.
