The last time we checked up on Infinity Ward, the company was on a rumored downward spiral, due to the heads of the company laid off, and unpaid royalities. The creators of the immensively succesful series Call of Duty became the center of the spotlight, when co-founders Vince Zampella and Jason West were fired for breach of contract. With rumors of “low morale” at Infinity Ward, community manager Robert Bowling has discussed the situation, to clear up the air.
Speaking to GamesRadar, Bowling revealed that the company was at a high morale point, despite rumors of it being the contrary.
“Morale is high, because we’re really excited to get this DLC out. Any time we’re just about to launch something out to the community, morale boosts up, because you’re excited to see what your players think of it, and to watch them get on there and see what tactics they come up with. Right now, you know, we’re all focused on getting this DLC out, and that’s great for us, I mean it’s business as usual, which is the best thing that can happen at a time like this. That’s where our focus always wants to be, and that’s where it is right now. Things are good when we’re making games we love for people who love to play them.”
Zampella and West were fired from Infinity Ward in early March. They are currently in the process of suing parent company Activision for $36 million, and the rights to the Modern Warfare IP.
