Red Dead Redemption, the latest game by Rockstar, has recently been released to critical acclaim and great sales – so much so that infamous analyst Michael Patcher admitted he was wrong that a Western-themed game couldn’t sell in today’s market. This has resulted in a bit of a problem in the UK…
Various stores nationwide, including GAME, HMV, Tesco, and Asda are all sold out of PS3 copies of the game, at least at their retail locations. Most of these stores will still take orders online, though even online retail giant Amazon is currently only selling PS3 versions of the game via the third-party (consumer) marketplace. There have been reports that a sunken cargo ship is to blame for the PS3 shortage, though ShopTo’s CEO Igor Cipolletta specifically stated that he was “not aware of any cargo ship that sunk.” Anyone from the UK having trouble buying this stellar Western?
