NBA Elite 11 To Evolve Basketball

The basketball sports genre has been subject to a battle between EA Sports NBA LIVE and 2K Sports NBA2K. With 2K looking to edge out competition from EA this year by putting Michael Jordan on their cover, EA looks to have lashed back by announcing NBA Elite 11. Peter Moore head of EA Sports believes NBA Elite 11 will “profoundly evolve” the basketball genre in a way that hasn’t been seen for “a decade”.

Moore goes on to say that he believes that the new one-to-one control system is what fans have been “begging for” for years. One of the features mentioned is the Dubbed Hands On Control, relieves the pre-animated moves and brings in analogue stick freedom.

“NBA ELITE 11 will give gamers the same skill set that a pro basketball player has at his disposal,” exaggerated the game’s creative director, David Littman. “It is like being on a basketball court with an amazing set of skills.”

The Dubbed Hands On Control isn’t just for dribbling, but for dunking, diving, fadeaways, mid-air adjustments, blocks and steals. And If that wasn’t enough, “skill-based” shooting requires “accurate user input” in order to score points. And behind all this looks to be a re-worked engine.

Peter Moore seems very confident about this title, expect some more details at E3. NBA Elite 11 releases this October.
