Rumors regarding a PlayStation Portable 2 have been floating around for quite a while now. Some thought an announcement at Sony’s E3 press conference regarding the PSP’s successor was imminent, but, unfortunately, it didn’t happen. Sony’s former European head believes Sony should release the PSP2 if they want any chance in competing within the tough handheld market.
Speaking to GameIndustry, David Reeves, who is now the COO of Capcom Europe states:
I’d like to the think it would be for the publishers and developers and consumers.Sony tried to make the transition with PSPgo, I think that changed some consumers attitudes, but they need to come back with something on PSP pretty quickly to stay in the game because Nintendo are shit hot at getting these things right. And they always get these things right.
