GamesCom Moves Home This Week

Since the public outing of the social online community for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Home has consistently been updated with new public spaces and even community events. At this year’s E3, however, Sony Computer Entertainment took the initiative to combine the two in the virtual world with a digital replica of the Sony booth at E3. Thanks to the immense success of the novelty idea, Sony is set to rinse and repeat the formula.

Launching tomorrow, August 12, 2010, the GamesCom Home space will release to the masses with scheduled content filling up the virtual environment on the 19th. Complete with a team-based game and PlayStation Move related digital content, this Move space is not just monopolizing on a generic method of drawing interest. According to the official UK PlayStation.Blog:

“Launching in PlayStation Home a week earlier on 12 August 2010 is the PS Move space, allowing you to enjoy lots of PS Move related fun, including a unique PS Move costume to wear which lets you play as a PlayStation Move motion controller, the ability to play an addictive team game to win more costumes with coloured heads, the chance to purchase an extra special controller with special moves and a multicoloured sparkly head to use all around PlayStation Home, and other fun stuff to interact with for that perfect party atmosphere.”

PlayStation at GamesCom will swing into full effect on August 17, 2010 with the Sony 2010 press conference. Be sure to stay connected to PlayStation LifeStyle for more news on this and more.
