Capcom announced in their 2010 Annual Report the timeframes certain titles would be released. Surprisingly, Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two World’s (MvC3) is coming sooner than anyone expected.
To stabilize net sales, Capcom is releasing major software titles in each quarter – with MvC3 arriving before between January 1st and March 31st.
According to the report, Capcom recognized that software sales peaked during the holiday season and then decided to adopt a new model to maximize profits. They also cited this will help in:
“diffusing the adverse effects of head-to-head competition with competitor titles…”
At any rate, the decision puts MvC3 in our hands that much sooner, and should result in a steady stream of titles throughout the year…at least from Capcom.
