Another week has gone by in Japan and with it comes more domination by PS3 and PSP games as 7 of the top 10 sales are from one of Sony’s two platforms.
Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3 takes first place for the PSP with 222,068 units sold in its first week. Second place went to Samurai Warriors 3Z on the PS3 with 208,548 units sold and third place was Monster Hunter Freedom 3 on the PSP with 93,483 sold for a grand total of 4,249,622. The rest of the top 10 shook out with Little Big Planet 2 in 5th (24,648), Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare in 7th (21,718), Kenka Bancho 5 in 9th (14,372), and White Knight Chronicles PSP rounding out in 10th (11,229).
Software was not the only bright spot for Sony as the PSP leads the way in hardware with 106,893 units sold and the PS3 in 2nd with 26,766. The only negative out of the numbers had to come with the PSP Go coming in last place with a low total of 107 units sold.
Great numbers all around for anything on a Sony platform and hopefully these numbers continue to be strong.
