Hothead Games is creating another downloadable title, Swarm, that looks just as interesting and unique as their previous games. A release date has been announced, and a sadistic launch trailer accompanies it.
You probably already know Hothead Games for their previous titles, On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness and Deathspank, both of which were well received for their incredibly fun gameplay, and great sense of humor. Now Swarm is on the horizon, and the mass of little blue creatures is going to be hard to ignore. The action platforming game is unusual in the sense that rather than controlling one character, you control up to fifty characters at once, effectively placing you in control of a swarm of creatures called Swarmites. You can expect your chance to lead the appropriately named Swarmites through their somewhat suicidal adventure on March 22nd if you live in North America, and March 30th in Europe. A rather strange trailer accompanies the announcement, reinforcing why I find children very creepy sometimes.
Hothead Games has stated that when Swarm releases later this month, it will cost $14.99 in the US and €12.99 in Europe. A demo for the violently mischievous platformer is also supposed to be made available, although no date was given for that. The full game is supposed to take about 6-8 hours to complete and is single player only. However, leaderboards will be included, allowing for indirect competition between friends, and everyone else.
Will you be sending Swarmites to their brutal and entertaining deaths when Swarm releases later this month? Let us know in the comments below.
