The Reminiscence of Haruhi Suzumiya Gets New Date, Screenshots

Haruhi Suzumiya no Tsuisou, or The Reminiscence of Haruhi Suzumiya as it’d be called in English, will ship to Japanese retail shops on May 12, having been delayed along with several other games and movies, as a result of the Tohoku Disaster.

Since their game debut in 2007, these adventure games and visual novels have been handled by a who’s who of publishers, with one to be published by Bandai Namco Games. It will appear on both PS3 and PSP and tell a new, original story set directly following The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, which is both a light novel and animated film. Unlike the games, the anime is actually available in North America and the United Kingdom, having been licensed by Bandai.

Here’s a whole mess of screenshots of the upcoming game:

These games feature Japanese high school student and game’s namesake Haruhi Suzumiya teaming up with her schoolmates Yuki Nagato, Mikuru Asahina, Itsuki Koizumi, and Kyon. Haruhi has a fascination with ghosts and the like, and her strong personality tends to get her friends roped into her schemes.
