The Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY was a very big deal, pre-launch. Post-launch… not so much. We concluded that it’s a great device all around, but for some reason the impact it has had on consumers have been less than we expected. However, Verizon has kicked off a new Back-to-School sale that has the Xperia PLAY for a price you can’t pass up.
Those of you looking for a new smartphone and want your gaming too, should seriously consider this new deal. Verizon is offering the Xperia PLAY for only $99.99 as part of their Back-to-School sale.
This is greatly reduced down from the original launch MSRP of $449.99. There is a catch though. To get this deal you must sign up and activate a new 2-year plan. But you’d have to do this anyway as a new Verizon customer. A monthly data plan is also required, but again, you’d need this anyway.
Not a bad deal if you’re in need of a new phone. If you’re still on the fence, check out our review.
