A horde of zombies is barreling down on you, and it’s entirely too much for one pipe wielding tourist to handle. Luckily, Dead Island encourages team work, which is emphasized in the new trailer released today.
Dead Island, the open world zombie fighting game from Techland, has drummed up a lot of attention and anticipation quickly since its infamous backwards playing trailer earlier this year. The game will have four characters who gain experience throughout the adventure, allowing them to advance special skills unique to each through a tech tree system. I’m normally the first to complain that there are too many zombie games any more, but the concept sounds very similar to another game which I rant on constantly about, and the encouragement of teamwork sounds like something everyone can enjoy. After all, what’s better than slaying a bunch of zombies with your friends?
Did you notice the bubbling suicide zombie midway through the video? I’m told it’s a horrible idea to drive vehicles straight into that, even though I’ll be the first to admit that I’ll do it anyway. Zombie Island is gloriously brutal, and looks like one of the more interesting zombie games I’ve seen in a long time, so it’s probably a good idea to keep tabs on it, especially if you’re a fan of the walking dead. It’s currently due to eat your brains on September 6th in North America, and September 9th in PAL territories.
