The PlayStation Vita uses a flash memory storage solution for games, allowing for things like DLC and game saves to be saved directly to the game itself. However, some games either won’t support this feature, or have filled the flash memory to the point where additional space isn’t available, forcing you to have an external memory card in order to save your progress.
