During E3 2011, Sony announced that PS3 version of Battlefield 3 would come with exclusive content on the disc (thanks to Blu-ray’s storage capacity) in form of Battlefield 1943. The downloadable game was to be free to all PS3 owners who purchased a copy of the game new at retail.
