Gran Turismo 5 spent an extraordinarily long time in development, and when it finally did release, Polyphony Digital was done developing for it. Last month, a free software update, dubbed Spec II released, and with it came an $20 DLC pack. Soon, you’ll be able to get the original game already patched to Spec II, and the DLC, all in one shiny new package.
In Japan, anyway. Over in the Land of the Rising Sun, Gran Turismo 5 will be re-released as Gran Turismo 5 Spec II, with includes the patch on the Blu-ray disc, as well as a voucher for the complete DLC package valued at around $20.
The new Spec II featuring the DLC and patch will retail for roughly $60, which is a value considering the standard game released at that price a year ago.
At this point, most people who wanted GT5 have already bought it, and played the shit out of it. But at least any newcomers will be able to pick up the complete experience – the experience we should have had from the beginning – for a value price.
