Best PSN Game 2011

LIMBO

Publisher: Playdead

Developer: Playdead

Limbo is less of a game and more of an experience that the developers are sharing with you. It may not be as long as some of the other titles on PSN, but Limbo is able to tug at the player’s emotions in a way that other games could only dream of. Not a single line of dialogue in the entire game, and yet it has some of the best laid out mood and atmosphere of any game. The aesthetics really pulled the player into the world, but it was the pacing of the puzzles that drove gamers to blast through the game in one sitting. Innocent maneuvering of boxes soon turned into a deadly maze of circular saws and bear traps, and precise platforming gave way to races against the clock. With every passing minute in that game the difficulty would gradually increase until the finale, and the player was left wanting more. It’s a shame that it took an extra year for PSN users to experience such a gem.
