Some time ago, Square Enix had announced that an HD version of the PlayStation 2 RPG classic title, Final Fantasy X, would eventually be released for PlayStation 3 and Vita. Little has been heard about the game since the announcement, but producer Yoshinori Kitase has revealed an update on its status.
In an interview with German magazine M! Games, Kitase says that the title is still in the very early stages of development. Although Kitase’s involvement with the game’s development is not clear, Kitase said he thinks he’ll be working on it, because he’ll “ensure that the remake of the game will have the same quality as the original.”
Also, Kitase used the German term “neuauflage” to describe the game, which can be translated to mean “remake,” “new edition,” or “new issue.”
Final Fantasy X, which Kitase worked on as a producer, was originally released on the PlayStation 2 in 2001.
If there are any updates on Final Fantasy X HD for PS3 and Vita, PSLS will keep you posted.
