Rumor Debunked: 2K Czech Not Helping With GTA V

A new rumor today suggested that the development team behind the Mafia series is helping Grand Theft Auto V and that Rockstar is sharing their technology with the studio as well. It has already been debunked.

VG247 reports that a source told them that 2K Czech has been working on GTA V for almost a year now, specifically to produce animations for cutscenes and gameplay. Rockstar allegedly had been sharing technology with 2K Czech as well, as part of a plan by Take-Two Interactive to make Mafia a major franchise for the publisher. Mafia III‘s full development cycle was also said to have recently begun after a year of pre-production, in which the game was stripped back to basics in both concepts and technology.

But 2K Games told GameSpot that no plans have been announced for a future Mafia game and fully debunked the rumor that 2K Czech is aiding with the development of GTA V.
