The next major installment in the .hack series will be bundled with the upcoming Blu-ray release of .hack//Sekai no Mukou ni. The game will be titled .hack Versus and is said to be an action fighter that borrows heavily from the Naruto franchise.
The game was teased by Namco Bandai earlier this year, but up until this point details have been few and far between. As one might expect, the game is currently only confirmed for a Japanese release, so don’t get your hopes up for a stateside version. The .hack franchise got its gaming start on the PS2, but failed to sell well outside of Japan.
The game will support 3D, which can also be said for the Blu-ray movie. CyberConnect2, the team behind the Naruto games (go figure) will be developing the game. The flick/game bundle is expected to launch on June 28th in Japan.
