“Extended Cut” DLC to Bring Clarity to Mass Effect 3 Ending this Summer

Fans have been asking, and BioWare has finally answered with some tangible news, as the studio has just announced that they’ll be launching a free DLC pack dubbed Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut, which will provide gamers with a more fleshed out ending.

The pack will include a handful of additional cinematic and epilogue scenes that provide a more detailed look into how Shepard’s story concludes. It is important to note that this DLC doesn’t necessarily change the ending per say, but rather expound upon it in a way that keeps the original artistic vision uncompromised.

BioWare co-founder Dr. Ray Muzyka had the following to say with regard to the extended cut content:

With the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut we think we have struck a good balance in delivering the answers players are looking for while maintaining the team’s artistic vision for the end of this story arc in the Mass Effect universe.

Casey Hudson went on to assure disappointed fans that this extended ending will provide “closure with even more context and clarity to the ending of the game, in a way that will feel more personalized for each player.”

Look for the DLC when it launches on PSN this summer.
