Japan loves Dragon Quest, and has been enamored with the classic RPG series for 25 years. It’s no surprise, therefore, that the new, 3DS-based edition of its popular spinoff series Dragon Quest Monsters topped the sales charts last week. What might be surprising though, is that PSP title My Little Sister Can’t Possibly Be This Cute Portable is still hanging on. Three weeks ago, it made its sales debut in the top spot — yes, that’s another PSP game debuting at number one in Japan — and has hung around the top 20 this whole time. Usually, these dating sims or social awkwardness games have a nice opening but quickly fade out, with the occasional exception of Love Plus. Here’s the full top 20:

Dragon’s Dogma holds the number two spot after arriving on top in its opening week. When you share DNA with Monster Hunter, that’s not very surprising. Hardware sales don’t have much to report, as the Vita held onto its current average of about 7,500 units sold and the 3DS saw the expected sales boost that only Dragon Quest can provide, selling 101 thousand systems.
