New gamescom Trailer for Ni No Kuni is Absolutely Enchanting

Level 5 and Namco Bandai’s gorgeous role-playing game Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch made an appearance at gamescom this week with a jaw-dropping new trailer.

The talented artists at Studio Ghibli have really crafted something special here, with some of the most amazing enemy designs I’ve ever seen in a game. RPG lovers outside of Japan have had to remain patient for quite some time, but judging by how fantastic this game looks, there’s no doubt it will be well worth the wait.

There has been no shortage of Western developed role-playing games this generation, but quality JRPGs have been few and far between, and even many of the ones that have launched ultimately were a disappointment. Ni No Kuni aims to break that trend by delivering a charming tale weaved within the traditional mechanics essential to any Japanese RPG.

The game is set to launch on January 22nd.
