According to a short report from Joystiq, Sony’s Senior Director of PlayStation Digital Platforms, Jack Buser, claims the PlayStation Network had it’s best quarter transaction-wise since the service started back in November of 2006. More content was purchased between April to June than any other quarter on PSN thus far.
Buser also confirmed that PlayStation Plus has nearly doubled in membership sales since E3 week, which is when Sony debuted the “instant game collection” featuring a wide variety of PlayStation 3 and PSN exclusive content available to download for free digitally for PlayStation Plus members.
The instant game collection alone is worth the value of the PlayStation Plus membership, even if you don’t actually own these games. We expect PS Plus to continue to further expand on this value when it launches on the PlayStation Vita this November.
