We reported over the weekend about a retailer leak detailing an April 23rd release date and special edition for Dead Island: Riptide. Well, Deep Silver has officially announced that it will be out on April 23rd in North America and April 26th for the rest of the world on PS3.
As for the special edition, it will be available in two different ways. One will be a pre-order only and includes an exclusive pack of weapon mods that allows even more, manifold ways to dispose of the ghastly zombie hordes on Palanai island.
The second will be a Special Retailers Edition and in addition to the weapon mods this version will contain an alternate character skin not obtainable anywhere else. Just who those special retailers are have yet to be revealed, but we should know that information sooner rather than late, with Amazon and GameStop the likely frontrunners.
