The orchestral score of thatgamecompany’s Journey has been nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.
The soundtrack was composed by Austin Wintory, who unsurprisingly is both shocked and honored by the nomination. In a post on Twitter he said, “Well I don’t really have words right now.”
Other nominees in the category of Best Soundtrack for Visual Media include The Adventures Of Tintin – The Secret Of The Unicorn, The Artist, The Dark Knight Rises, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and Hugo.
Even if Journey doesn’t win the award, just being nominated is a huge win for the video game industry. It goes without saying that some actual recognition at a professional and prestigious event is incredible.
All of us here at PlayStation LifeStyle would like to congratulate Austin Wintory and TGC for creating such an wonderfully memorable and Grammy-worthy experience in Journey.
