Yet another VGA trailer, another reveal. This time, it’s a sequel to Dark Souls, the spiritual successor to PS3-exclusive Demon’s Souls. Simply dubbed Dark Souls II, the trailer consisted of stunning pre-rendered footage. Still, even with a lack of information and very little to go on, the game looks amazing. Plus, the “Souls” franchise has built up quite the fanbase – gluttons for punishment, it seems – so it has lofty expectations to live up to, and it will.
[Update] Namco-Bandai says that Dark Souls II features “a new hero, a new storyline, and an unfamiliar world for players to survive in while delivering its signature brand of unrelenting punishment that players hunger for” plus a new server-based multiplayer mode that puts a Dark Souls twist on playing with others.
