Battlefield 4 Engine To Be Used By Bioware

EA has already unveiled Battlefield 4 and along with it DICE’s very impressive Frostbite 3 engine. It seems that Battlefield won’t be the only EA-published franchise to make use of the new engine as Bioware will also be using the engine in its most popular franchises.

BioWare General Manager Aaryn Flynn tweeted after the Battlefield 4 reveal:

For everyone who’s been asking after the  reveal, and the next Mass Effect are also using Frostbite 3. It’s awesome

So it appears that the Frostbite 3 engine will be used in Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, which had previously been reported to use Frostbite 2, and in the next Mass Effect. Not much information has been released about either game, but at this point it is presumable that both will be available on the next generation of consoles. And with both utilizing the new engine it looks like we will have some very pretty RPGs heading our way.

Were you impressed with Frostbite 3? Think it will help out Bioware’s franchises? Let us know in the comments.
