The Catch-Up: July 16th, 2013 – Zone of the Enders HD Collection Patch 2.0, All 3 Grand Theft Auto V Characters Won’t be Playable From the Start

General News

  • EA isn’t taking the launch of Battlefield 4 lightly, as they’ll have a novel, art book, PDP Xbox 360 and PS3 controllers, Razer PC accessories, clothing, strategy guides, wall graphics, and more available around the October 29th release date for the game on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC (a PS4 and Xbox One version comes out at console launch).   • Mark Rubin, Executive Producer at Infinity Ward, revealed that we can expect a multiplayer reveal for Call of Duty: Ghosts in the middle of August. [Via/Twitter]
  • Grand Theft Auto V may have three main characters, but you’ll have to wait to play them all because, as Rockstar North President Leslie Benzies said, “We want to give the player the opportunity to get to know the three characters individually, and explore the world as each of them, and it would not have been possible if all three had been available from the start.” [Via/Source]
  • Patch 2.0 for the Zone of the Enders HD Collection is now available. Taking up 594MB, we’ve reached out to Konami for full patch notes, but it basically makes the collection a whole lot better, cleaning up the frame rate and fixing bugs. [Source]
  • The scenario for Disgaea 5 is in the planning stages. [Source]
  • The NHL 94 for NHL 14 will be strictly offline, because EA’s “goal was to recreate the social experience that so many gamers had on the couch next to their friends.” [Source]
  • Mad Max is in pre-alpha right now, with over 50 vehicles available to drive in the game. Your main car though, the Magnum Opus, will be customizable. [Source]
  • Scorpion is the only guest character for Injustice: Gods Among Us, so expect any other future DLC characters for the game to be from DC. [Twitter]
  • The Amazon.ca Deal of the Week (ending July 21st) saves you $30 when buying the PlayStation Camera, DualShock 4, and Killzone: Shadow Fall together. [Amazon]
  • The LEGO Movie Videogame, a video game based off the upcoming LEGO Movie, will be released alongside the movie in 2014 for PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC, and 3DS. [Press Release]
  • Mystic Chronicles will be available for download in the PlayStation Vita Store on August 6th. [Source]
