“Due to High Demand”: If You Pre-Order a PS4 From Now On in the UK, Launch Date Shipping Isn’t Guaranteed

If you live in the UK and put off pre-ordering the PS4, constantly meaning to get around to it later, we have some bad news for you – it might be too late to get the PS4 at launch.

Amazon UK states:

Please note–due to high demand, orders placed for this PlayStation 4 console from August 6 may be received after release date. We will ship orders as soon as we receive sufficient inventory.

Other retailers have released similar statements, with CVG rumoring it is a nation-wide limitation.

Even with the message, the PS4 is currently the best selling console on Amazon UK, at number 3 overall in games, compared to 14 for the Day One Xbox One edition. Of course, pre-ordering now will probably increase your chances of getting the console sooner – hopefully before Christmas.
