The Last of Us Trophy Guide (PS3)

Welcome to PlayStation LifeStyle’s trophy guide for The Last of Us! This game contains 24 total trophies. 7 Gold, 9 Silver, 7 Bronze and of course 1 Platinum. 24 may not seem like much, but a majority of the trophies are related to collectibles which can be very time consuming. In addition to the collectible trophies there are two multiplayer trophies that will also require a bit of your time. It is important to know that if you miss any collectibles they will all carry over to your New Game + playthrough. If you need some tips on the multiplayer follow this link to Dan’s article for a rundown of everything The Last of Us multiplayer related. Let’s get started earning that plat shall we?

Much like the salvage parts, you’ll find supplements during the game. They are differentiated from the parts with an icon that looks like medicine or a pill. You won’t be able to fully upgrade Joel in one play through. Just like the collectibles, the upgrades will carry over to your New Game + playthrough. I want to talk about it – Silver

– Engage in all optional conversations.

Optional conversations are marked by a Triangle icon appearing over a character’s head or object in the game. There are 37 of these during the course of the game. Just like the collectibles, the conversations that you get will carry over into the New Game + playthrough. Please see the trophy Scavenger for more details.

That’s all I got – Gold

– Survive all of Ellie’s jokes.

After chapter 5 there will be moments in certain areas where Ellie will tell jokes. Just stop and listen to every joke she has until she puts the joke book away. Please see the trophy Scavenger for more details.

No Matter What – Easy – Bronze

– Complete the game on Easy.

See the trophy No Matter What – Survivor for more details.

No Matter What – Survivor – Gold

– Complete the game on Survivor.

Obviously completing the game on various difficulties will earn you the difficulty trophies. The difficulty trophies do stack if you complete a higher difficulty playthrough. Survivor is the hardest difficulty in the game. There are a few things that set this apart from the other difficulties. Joel’s hearing ability is taken away, enemies senses are heightened, and supplies/ammo is VERY scarce.

The Last of Us – Easy + – Silver

– Complete the game on Easy +.

See the trophy The Last of Us – Survivor + for more details.

The Last of Us – Normal + – Silver

– Complete the game on Normal +.

See the trophy The Last of Us – Survivor + for more details.

The Last of Us – Hard + – Silver

– Complete the game on Hard+.

See the trophy The Last of Us – Survivor + for more details.

The Last of Us – Survivor + – Gold

– Complete the game on Survivor +.

There are a few ways to go about unlocking Survivor Plus. The first way is to beat the game, unlock Survivor, and then beat Survivor first. The other way is easier and a big time savor. If you use this alternate method, any difficulty trophies not earned will be unlocked upon completion as they all stack. The steps are listed below:

    1. Complete the game on any difficulty.
    2. Start a New Game Plus with whatever difficulty your previous playthrough was on.
    3. Complete Hometown (chapter 1).
    4. Begin 20 years later (chapter 2) and save the game and quit to the main menu.
    5. In the main menu, go to Chapter Select and select Hometown.
    6. Set the difficulty to Survivor.
    7. Complete the game.

You may want to delete the Game Data in the XMB and play offline before trying this just in case a patch is released that fixes this.

Knowing the Basics – Bronze

– Win a game of Supply Raid and Survivors in find match.

Supply Raid and Survivors are the only two game modes in The Last of Us. Simply be on the winning team once in each game mode. In order for it to count, you can’t join the match late and win. You will have to be there from the beginning of the match. You’ll probably earn this trophy without trying for it as you play through each journey.

Populace – Bronze

– Build your clan to 40 people in Factions.

As you play the multiplayer, you will gain survivors in your clan. Depending on how many survivors you have in your clan you will be given a number of salvage that you will have to collect each match. In order to grow your clan population you will have to collect more salvage than the target number given during each match. Salvage can be earned by picking it up after killing an enemy, getting an assist on a kill, and your overall score for the match will be converted into salvage. The salvage is marked by a blue icon where ever you killed an enemy. It will only take a few in game weeks to reach 40 survivors.

Firefly – Gold

– Complete the Firefly Journey.

Select Fireflies at the beginning of a new multiplayer journey and see the trophy Hunter for more details.

Hunter – Gold

– Complete the Hunter Journey.

In order to complete the Hunter Journey you will have to select the Hunters when starting a new multiplayer campaign. There are 12 weeks total in each journey. These trophies will take a lot of your time, as one match equals one day. With 12 weeks in both journeys that will come out to 84 matches for each journey. If you lose all of your survivors in your clan you will lose and have to start over at week one. Every so often you will be prompted with a mission that if failed will destroy your clan population. You will have 3 days to complete an objective of your choosing in order to protect your clan. There will be a percentage attached to each mission telling you how much of your population is at risk. You really only have to worry about failing the missions that threaten 100% of your population. Select an objective you are comfortable with when approaching these missions.
