It was revealed yesterday that Flower, flOw, Sound Shapes, and Escape Plan would be coming to the PS4/PS Vita in November from Sony Santa Monica.
For a little bit more information about exactly which studios are handling these ports, Eric Fong, Associate Producer at Santa Monica Studio, took to the PS Blog:
flOw is being worked on by SuperVillain Studios [worked on Fat Princes and flOw on PSP] and Flower is being worked on by Bluepoint Games [worked on God of War Collection and Metal Gear Solid HD Collection].
Wholesale Algorithms [worked on game components, including helping with the development of a Wii game engine] is pulling double duty on Sound Shapes and Escape Plan. One of the best perks about being in the game industry is working with such dedicated, creative, and talented people. I could go on, but it would be at the risk of making some people blush.
Also, when a commenter questioned why someone would pay for $400 for a PS4 to play indie games, Eric gave a pretty entertaining answer:
Perhaps I’m just bathing in the Kool-Aid, but the way I see it, PlayStation is the best platform to experience every genre of console games out there. I highly recommend you check out at least one of our many indie games that we offer. The amount of innovation happening on the indie front is mind blowing. If you don’t like the game, you’re out the cost of one fancy burrito (to borrow a phrase from Giant Sparrow’s Ian Dallas).
Oh yeah? OH YEAH!
