PSN Goes Down for Some: Error Codes 80710092, CE-33743-0, E-820001F7 and NW-31448-0 Appear, “Significant Latency”

July 2021 Update: If you are looking for the July 2021 PSN down problems thanks to internet-wide issues, find out more here.

New Year’s 2014 Update: A hacker group known has DERP has now taken down the PSN, DCUO more here.

As a writer, it’s becoming increasingly hard to say the same sentence in a new, novel way: The PlayStation Network is down for some users.

After having “connection issues” before Christmas, downtime over Christmas, and tons of errors on Boxing Day, we hoped all of it was behind us, but unfortunately we’re getting tons of reports of the PSN being down for certain users. On top of that, Twitter is filled with users complaining, as is Reddit. Error codes that appear include 80710092, E-820001F7, CE-33743-0, CE-34861-2 and NW-31448-0 as well as simple time outs or maintenance messages as well as “SEN is currently busy”.

Luckily, it looks like Sony knows something is wrong, with their site saying:

PSN is experiencing significant latency.

Unfortunately, the PSN is experiencing significant latency issue which may prevent you from connecting to the PSN. We are aware of the issues and are working to resolve them as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The network is also again listed as having “connection issues”, however it is working for many – so if you can connect, we recommend making the most of it while you can.

Are you able to get on, or is it offline for you? Let us know in the comments below.

New Year’s Eve Update: PSN problems are still continuing, sorry.
