We can’t tell if this was an accident or intentional, but a rental listing for the PlayStation 3 game Catherine went up in the PlayStation Store yesterday, giving you the option to rent it free of charge for 1, 7, or 30 days (the lack of price is probably a placeholder). If you couldn’t guess it already, this has to do with PlayStation Now, as PSNStores captured these images:
Despite the listing, you can’t actually play Catherine using this method (it will show up in your Transaction History, but not Download List), so it appears this may be a test for either the PlayStation Now beta going on now, or for the full version expected this Summer in the US.
Whatever the case, we’ll be sure to let you know of any more PlayStation Now information as it arrives, and we’ll let you know if Sony offers up an explanation for why this Catherine rental appeared in the PlayStation Store.
