According to Eurogamer, the next iteration in Ubisoft’s Far Cry franchise will be getting a change of scenery from the more tropical locales of late. Instead, Far Cry 4 will reportedly be taking place in the Himalyalas and will have some new features, such as the ability to ride elephants.
Eurogamer also reports that Far Cry 4‘s gameplay will generally be the same as Far Cry 3 with a similarly structured world map and outposts for the player to liberate. The game will supposedly be revealed at this year’s E3 and be released some time during the first half of 2015.
The report also says that the game will release for PC, Xbox One, and PS4, but was unable to confirm whether PS3 or Xbox 360 versions were in development. It isn’t surprising that Ubisoft would be making Far Cry 4 given the success of 2012’s Far Cry 3, but keep in mind this is still a rumor. We will keep you updated if any new information becomes available.
