The Catch-Up: May 12th, 2014 – The Last of Us PS4 Multiplayer Targeting 60fps

E3 starts in less than a month!

General News

  • As part of their Reddit AMA last week, Naughty Dog’s Erin Daly and Quentin Cobb confirmed that The Last of Us Remastered’s multiplayer is targeting 60fps and the “load times are much faster.” Additionally, they said the number of players allowed in multiplayer matches will be the same as PS3 and, while your progress may not transfer over from PS3 to PS4, “we will be including a supply bonus for accounts that played on the PS3 version to give them a bit of a head start.” [Source]
  • Fred Dutton of the EU PS Blog has confirmed that “PS4 digital pre-orders will be commencing this month on select titles. Look for more details in the weekly Store posts.” When the games are available for pre-order, don’t forget that PS4 firmware update 1.70 made pre-loading a possibility. [Source]
  • Regarding the GameSpy shutdown, Capcom says Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition and Marvel vs Capcom: Origins have already migrated with no issues, while Lost Planet 3 has already begun migration, but because of this, the leaderboards and current play stats will be reset.   • BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma’s patch 1.1 for the PS3 version will be released on May 14th. Re-balancing and enhancing characters, the new patch will also add improvements to the challenge and training modes. For those of you looking to get the PS Vita version of Chrono Phantasma, patch 1.1 will be implemented when the game launches on June 24th. [Press Release]
  • One Piece: Unlimited World Red has been given a North American release date of July 8th for PS3, PS Vita, 3DS, and Wii U. [Press Release]
  • On May 20th, all of these Japanese PS1 Classics will hit the North America PSN at $5.99 each: Sarara’s Little Shop (Danjyon Shoutengai: Densetsu no Ken Hajimemashita), Dragon Beat Legend of Pinball, Neo Planet, Heroine Dream 1, Heroine Dream 2, and Tokyo 23-Ku Seifuku Wars. [More Info]
