Watch Dogs Trophy Guide

Welcome to PlayStation LifeStyle’s trophy guide for Watch Dogs! There are 40 trophies to earn in this long awaited game. A good majority of them are progression based with a few of the random task type trophies. So, in other words, they aren’t difficult, just time consuming. There are, however, two trophies that may give you a little trouble. Those are Social Lubricant and Traced. Social Lubricant is tied to a drinking game and Traced is tied to online play. Before you start playing, it’s a good idea to turn on “Online Invasions”. Keeping this on will allow other players to enter your game and tail you. There is no way to make it happen or know when it’s happening so its best to just leave that option on until the Traced trophy pops. There are more details on both of those trophies down below in the guide. Some of the side missions won’t become available until you progress and complete the main story. So, keep that in mind if you prefer to complete side missions before finishing the games main story.

Spoiler Alert:  Unfortunately, there are spoilers in this guide. If you are trying to avoid spoilers, it’s recommended that you complete the game before reading any further.

Easy ways to complete these are by getting ahead of the convoy and placing IEDs or blowing up Steam Pipes as they pass over them. You can keep track of how many you’ve completed by checking the Progression Wheel under the Statistics app on your in game phone.

Enforcer – Bronze

– Use the Crime Detection System to take down 20 confirmed criminals.

These are marked on your map by a blue circle with a triangle in the middle. They are very common and will pop up randomly as you’re driving around Chicago. Communication Fail – Bronze

– Using non-lethal takedown, stop 10 civilians from calling to report you.

Sometimes after you commit a crime, a civilian will call the police. Simply run up to them unarmed and press Circle to grab their phone from them. Shooting off a weapon is a good way to sort of farm this if you want to get it out of the way quickly.

Bookmarked – Silver

This is another trophy that will come as you play through the game. Press Square to bring out the Profiler and aim it at enemies to tag them.

  • Drinking Game
  • Poker
  • Shell Game
  • Slot Machine

Magic Smoke – Bronze

– Kill 4 enemies within a single instance of Focus.

Focus is a skill that you’ll need to unlock on the Skills Tree under the Combat section. Once you have it unlocked, press R3 to activate it. You’ll also need to have the 4 enemies pretty close to each other to pull this off.

Escape Loop – Bronze

– Escape 15 police chases.

Yet another trophy that should come over time as you play through the game. To intentionally get the police called, just commit some crimes and wait for a civilian to call 911. Once they show up, begin the chase!

Free Radical – Silver

– Escape a level 5 police chase.

Level 5 is the highest wanted level you can get in Watch Dogs. It’s the meter in the bottom right of the screen that measures your wanted level. It gets pretty intense, you’ll have helicopters, armored police, and armored cars after you in addition to the ‘normal’ police that chase you. It’ll cost some of your reputation to get up to level 5. Once you get the cops onto you, start killing them to raise your level. Once it’s at 5, its time to escape!

White Rabbit Object – Silver

– Escape 15 police scans.

A police scan is the time after the police are called but before they are after you. You’ll see expanding yellow circles on the map. If you’re in a yellow circle when the percentage hits 100% the cops will be after you. You have to dodge a few circles before they finally give up. It’ll count as an escape when you dodge all of the circles and the cops give up. You can craft a Jam Coms that will stall the cops’ search. The Jam Coms needs to be unlocked in the Skills Tree.

Scanproof – Silver

– Escape a level 5 police scan.

Everything that applies to White Rabbit Object also applies here, but with 1 difference. You’ll need to be at level 5 before the scan begins. An easy way to do this is to start killing civilians. If someone calls the police you need to kill them before the call is complete and the cops start the scan. When the meter reaches level 5, let a call go through and escape the scan.

Hardware Fail – Silver

– Shoot out a tire on 15 different vehicles.

A very easy trophy here, walk along the street and shoot out the tires on 15 different cars. They can be parked or moving.

Black Hat Trick – Silver

– Kill 3 enemies with a single IED.

First you will need to unlock the IED from the Skills Tree. An easy way to get this is to use it on cops. Get into a chase with them and get out of your car.  The cops usually park near each other so a well placed IED should get you the 3 kills you need.

Revoking Client Privileges – Bronze

– Complete the final mission in the Human Traffic Investigation.

There are a total of 11 Human Traffic Investigation missions. They are marked by a white silhouette and then (when the mission progresses) a white brief case on the map. All you need to do during theses missions is, scan a buyer at the designated location and then search their apartment for a briefcase. You’ll have to find all of the pieces in a location and then look at them through a security camera to align them, making them one whole Code. You can keep track of how many you’ve completed by checking the Progression Wheel under the Statistics app on your in game phone.

Darkness Looms – Bronze

– Complete the final mission of the Missing Persons Investigation.

There are 7 Missing Persons Investigation missions. They are marked on your map by a black icon with a white magnifying glass. All ya gotta do here is travel to the designated location, find, and scan a dead body. Geolocated – Silver

– Check in at every Hotspot.

There are 100 total Hotspots through out the city. They are marked on the map as white check marks. If they are bright, that means you have yet to visit it. If the check mark is dark, you’ve visited that one already. Disk Space Full – Silver

– Unlock every song with the SongSneak app.

There are 23 songs that you’ll need to unlock. There are a few different ways to unlock them. Some songs are unlocked by simply progressing through the main story. Another way is to hack a civilian on the street that is listening to a song. The final way is to use the app itself. When you hear music playing around the city, pull up the phone and select the SongSneak app. It will unlock whatever song is playing. The songs are all random but going to Newstands is a good way to get songs. Each one has a speaker playing music and there are many of them around the city. You can also get songs from inside bars, clothing stores, coffee shops, and gun stores.

Social Lubricant – Bronze

– Complete level 10 against all 3 Drinking Game opponents.

The 3 Drinking Game locations are The Loop, The Ward and Pawnee. They are also marked on your map by blue icons with a bottle. Each opponent will have a different challenge for you to complete with each level you gain making the game harder. It’s best to play The Loop and The Ward before playing the game in Pawnee, as the game in Pawnee is a combination of The Loop and The Ward. After each drink you’ll be on a timer to complete your turn. There won’t be an actual clock but the screen will start to get darker and darker. You can keep track of how many you’ve completed by checking the Progression Wheel under the Statistics app on your in game phone.

Hackification – Silver

– Invade and successfully hack 10 enemy Fixers in Online Hacking.

This trophy will require that you play online. Press Up on the D-Pad and enter the Contracts Menu on the phone, select Online Hacking. You need to find the other player and hack their phone without them finding and profiling you. Do your best to stay hidden after you’ve initiated the hack. Don’t do anything that will draw attention to you as the higher the hacking progress bar gets the smaller the radius will get, giving your opponent a smaller area to search. You can keep track of how many you’ve completed by checking the Progression Wheel under the Statistics app on your in game phone.

Piggyback – Silver

– Invade and successfully observe 10 enemy Fixers in Online Tailing.

This is trophy is earned by playing online. From the Online Contracts app on your phone, select Online Tailing and then Request Tailing Target. Those Skills will have those objectives labeled on them in the Skills Tree.

Traced – Bronze

– Get tailed 5 times.

This trophy is kind of going to be a pain to earn. First you’re going to need to have Online Invasions turned on. This will allow other players to invade your game and tail you. Next, you just wait. You have to be tailed by 5 players (total, not at once) but, you won’t know you’re being tailed unless you catch someone, or the person tailing you reached 100% on their Observe meter. There is no way to check how many times you’ve been tailed. You also have no control over whether or not someone joins your game. It’s all up to the Ubisoft servers.

Clear Signals – Silver

– Unlock every ctOS Tower.

The ctOS Towers are marked on your map as red icons. There are 13 of them that need to be unlocked. Unlocking them will reveal side missions across the map. You’ll need to figure out a way into each tower as they are locked behind gates that are connected to devices that need to be hacked. Most of them will be out of reach, so use surveillance cameras to reach and hack them. Make sure to also keep your phone out so you can see and follow the white wires that connect each device. Once you’ve hacked all of the devices connecting to the gate, it will be unlocked.
