If you weren’t one of the 600 – 800 people at E3 who were able to watch the PS4 gameplay demo of Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain, Hideo Kojima has some good news for you: tomorrow, June 19th, at 7PM Japan time (3AM PST/6AM EST), he will be presenting the entire 30 minute video, in English, during Kojima Station.

Kojima said the E3 demo was “received much better than expected,” so you should be in for a real treat.

Additionally, Kojima has been tweeting about The Phantom Pain throughout the week, as you can read below:

“To bring Player to the same level of emotion with protagonist, [Metal Gear Solid] always fuss over that part. It’s the reason Raiden appeared in MGS2 [and] the reason you swear vengeance in TPP after your MB built in [Peace Walker] was destroyed in [Ground Zeroes]. I intentionally design the memory of Player & protagonist will cross over through the game.”

“For Players who haven’t played [the] series, TPP provides you the setting where protagonist has just been waken from 9 years of coma. In such case Player should be able to play the game without any info about PW or GZ incidents. I used such metaphors like Gillian in Snatcher had an amnesia, so as in Policenauts.”

“But I must say MGS users are special. They have vicarious experiences of Snake’s suffering journey for 27 real years. Players who’ve played few MGS, aged with the Snakes and share the memories & emotions. That’s the strong point of long-lived series.”

“For fans who really love the heroic Snakes, I must make them accept the Snakes fallen into the demon in TPP. We have to head off while the end of story is already fixed. This is the hardest part, but not depicting villain, hero fallen into demon.”

Will you be waking up early to watch the video? Or are you going to just wait until it’s available on YouTube?
