If Ashley Johnson could fit the profile of a 14-year-old, she’d snap the role of Ellie for The Last of Us movie. While nothing is final, we’re told that Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams is in talks for the role. In the meanwhile, Johnson has some advice for whoever the lucky actress is.
Speaking to IGN, she said:
Selfishly, the only requirement I would want is just that they love it as much as I do, which clearly is not going to happen. But to at least have played the game so they know what it was, but who knows if that’s going to happen. I know somebody could do an amazing job with it and I think they will.
While she was joking about no one loving the role as much as she does, her recommendation of actually playing the game is reasonable and makes sense.
In the meantime, Joel voice actor, Troy Baker, doesn’t mind being a Clicker in the movie. He said:
I want to be a clicker so bad. The beauty of what we do, with the game specifically, is that the face isn’t what you see, you see Joel. I like some of that anonymity.
