Update 2:

Ubisoft sent over the official press materials confirming the last-gen title, Assassin’s Creed: Rogue. We’ve included the pertinent bits from the presser, as well as the official announcement trailer, which you can watch above.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue is being developed by Ubisoft Sofia, in collaboration with Ubisoft’s Singapore, Montreal, Quebec, Chengdu, Milan and Bucharest studios. Set in the middle of the 18th century during the Seven Years War, Assassin’s Creed Rogue gives players new locations across North America to explore, including the frozen North Atlantic, the Appalachian River Valley and New York. In Assassin’s Creed Rogue, players experience the Assassin’s Creed universe through the eyes of a Templar. As Shay Patrick Cormac, players suffer the brotherhood’s betrayal and transform into an Assassin hunter.

The acclaimed naval components from previous Assassin’s Creed games have been enhanced in Assassin’s Creed Rogue. The game also gives players new weapons to use on both land and sea in pursuit of taking down the Assassins, including a new ship called the Morrigan.

Update:

The video has been deleted, but we can confirm watching the trailer. Looks like Ubisoft caught on! In the meanwhile, the game has officially been revealed in Game Informer’s September cover.

Original story:

We recently reported that a Swiss retailer listed Assassin’s Creed: Rogue on its website for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. While that page was subsequently taken down, fan site Access the Animus somehow managed to grab a hold of some screen shots and a trailer, which seem to confirm that the title is on its way. Going by these, Rogue is coming on November 11.

Players are supposedly going to take the role of a Templar in this one, and we’ll experience some land and sea action like Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. It’s quite possible that Ubisoft will reveal something at Gamescom next week. Take a look at the image gallery below.
