Doom co-creator, John Romero, has confirmed to Joystiq that he’s making a shooter after 14 years. But that’s not all he’s working on. Apparently, Romero has a couple of projects in the pipeline. He announced:
I’m working on several games at once right now. But [Brenda] had mentioned earlier that I’m working with a concept artist, and so I’ve got some cool imagery for the main character.
Brenda Romero, his wife and video game developer, chipped in:
I’m concerned about how much you’re going to say.
And that’s when Romero disclosed the news to fans:
I haven’t made a shooter since 2000. So I’m basically starting to work on another one.
All we know so far is that the new shooter is coming from Romero Games. Romero’s last shooter Daikatana was released in 2000, and received very mixed reviews from users and critics alike.
