Outlast
Developer: Red Barrels
Publisher: Red Barrels
"Red Barrels seems to have crafted a character and a scenario that feels as real as the player wants to make it. Knowing that you have no way to fight, and a limited ability to see in the dark, affects your thinking within all situations. In addition, Outlast does not rely on jump scares."

And the Winner is...
Outlast
Outlast , with its focus on surviving, was a welcome change of pace from timid horror games. It was a fantastic dive into the horrifying world of an insane asylum left on its own for years. You played as a mere reporter, and as such had to run for cover whenever you were spotted by any enemy. It felt visceral, it felt scary, and the first-person perspective made everything feel more real.
