In case you didn’t know, the PlanetSide 2 PS4 closed beta is now live on the PlayStation 4. However, before anyone gets too excited, it seems the actual beta keys aren’t being handed out just yet.
In a tweet by the official PlanetSide 2 Twitter, it states that invites to the beta have NOT been distributed thus far.
Attention Auraxians! Invites to the #PS2onPS4 Beta have not been distributed. We will alert the troops when the first wave has been sent.

In another tweet, this time by Creative Director Matthew Higby, he mentions that once today’s maintenance is complete, the beta keys will then “flow.”
The #PS2onPS4 server is up! Once today’s PSN maint is complete, we do our final diagnostics&testing, then the beta keys will flow!

While that might dampen some moods, here’s what you can expect once you do get in and start mowing down online enemies.
As the only PlayStation 4 game that brings massive communities of players together to fight simultaneously across enormous battles, PlanetSide 2 offers a truly massive world combat conflict. Players can still register for the Closed Beta, which begins today with a few thousand initial invites followed by a steady increase throughout the Beta period. Players will be invited to Beta chronologically and can opt in by email for a chance to participate in Closed Beta via the PlanetSide 2 website: https://www.planetside2.com/ps2onps4.
The Beta period for PlanetSide 2 on PlayStation 4 will enable SOE to test servers, performance and various other aspects of the game. Players in Beta are fully encouraged to offer constructive feedback through community forums and official PlanetSide 2 social channels.
You can check out the actual size of the beta client — and the final game — in this snippet from our interview with Sony Online Entertainment Executive Producer, Clint Worley.
