It is with great regret that we share the news of the passing of former video game journalist, Andrew Yoon. Yoon, who was only 29 years of age, was most known for his time as Editor-in-Chief of Shacknews and East Coast Editor of video game site, Joystiq. According to the Austin Police Department, he drowned at McKinney Falls State Park in Austin, Texas.
Yoon had recently left video game journalism to pursue a career in video game development. He owned a New York-based studio, anyo, that successfully funded a project on Kickstarter called Divorce! The Game.
Our condolences go out to his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
