Gamer Academy – Dying Light Trophy Guide

Welcome to PlayStation LifeStyle’s Dying Light Trophy guide. There are no missable Trophies and you’ll only have to play through the story once (in terms of Trophy collection). There is also nothing really difficult either. Most of them are more time consuming than difficult. There are some online Trophies, but they’re co-op related and completion based. So, nothing difficult about the online Trophies either. There is also free roam after you complete the game, so, you can go back and pick up any Trophies that you may still need. Also, you can track your progress toward a majority of the Trophies by going to Statistics under the Extras menu from the Main Menu.

Spoiler Alert: There are spoilers within this guide. If you’re trying to avoid spoilers, it’s recommended that you complete the game before reading any further.

Disaster Recovery – Bronze

– Get 15 Relief Packages

There will be story mission that requires you go and retrieve a Relief Package. After that mission, the Relief Packages will become available. They are all random and you’ll know when one is coming. There will be a loud noise of an airplane flying and then a location on your map of a blue icon. You have to get to them quickly or you’ll have to fight off enemies that get there first. If you take too long, the enemy will take the supply drop and it will be gone completely.

The Relief Packages in Old Town are a little different. Here, they are no longer being dropped in, but are instead already on the ground and being guarded. They are marked by white icons on your map. You’ll have to clear out all the enemies and then pick their locks to open them.

We’re All in This Together – Bronze

– Save 15 survivors from zombies

Survivors are marked on the map by a blue icon accompanied by the noise of people screaming. Defeat all of the enemies surrounding the survivors and then interact with them by pressing Square.

The survivors work the same no matter what enemy type (human or zombie) is attacking them.

Homo Homini Lupus Est – Bronze

– Save 15 survivors from Rais’ men

See the Trophy “We’re All in This Together” for more details.

Bolter Hunting – Silver

– Catch 5 Bolters

Bolters will be introduced fairly early on in the game when you are required to collect DNA samples off of one. Bolters only come out at night and are marked on the radar as skull icons. Your best bet at killing one, is to attack it from behind. Stay quiet and move carefully once you have found a Bolter. Get behind it and then attack.

I’m a Runner and a Fighter – Silver

– Complete 15 Agility or Power Challenges

The Challenges are marked on your map by icons with stars. You only need to complete 15 of one type. The Agility Challenges are a little easier and faster than the Power Challenges. For Agility, all you have to do is run to a certain point in under a set time limit. You also have to complete Challenges in order to unlock new ones.

Lucky 7 – Bronze

– Win 7 co-op completitions

As you play co-op, there will be messages popping up with objectives. Hold down the Touchpad to enter the competition. Simply beat your partner(s) and win the competitions that come up. This Trophy is accumulative and does not need to be completed in one mission.

If you lose the competition, it will still count as participation toward Harran Athletics.

Harran Athletics – Bronze

– Take part in 10 co-op competitions

See the Trophy “Lucky 7” for more details.

Trade Company – Bronze

– Sell items worth 10,000 dollars

Vendors are marked on the radar as a white money symbol ($). Sell your gear to the vendors and you’ll eventually unlock this Trophy. This Trophy is also accumulative so, you don’t have to sell 10,000 worth in one transaction. Once you sell your items, you can buy them right back. So, you can sell everything if it equals 10,000 or over and then buy it all back immediately.

Trespassing – Silver

– Complete all Quarantine Zones

There are only eight Quarantine Zones that need to be unlocked. Five of them are in the Slums and the other three are in Old Town. There are two different kinds of Zones, one requires you to defeat all of the enemies and the other has you finding packages. The Zones will pop up as you come near them.

Old Town:

  1. New Antalya Apartments
  2. Parking Lot
  3. Striped Dragon Hotel

Slums:

  1. Bright Mountain Tunnel
  2. Chemical Storage
  3. Sunny Apartments
  4. Stuffed Turtle
  5. Underground Parking

Now It’s Safe – Silver

– Capture all Safe Zones

The Safe Zones are marked on your map by a red house icon. They will become available as you progress through the story. Some are also made available through side missions. You have to clear the Zone of the enemies and then close off the zone so that more enemies cannot get in. After you’ve closed off the Zone and killed all of the enemies, turn on the power to the Zone capture it. The house icon will become green once the Zone is captured.

Pheidippides – Silver

– Run (move or sprint) at least 42.195 m

This Trophy is accumulative and will unlock as you play through the game. You have to run everywhere, so it won’t take very long to unlock.

Mount Everest – Silver

– Climb at least 8848 meters on various objects

This Trophy will take awhile and using the grappling hook does not count toward it. If you want to get this one out of the way as soon as possible, don’t use the grappling hook and just climb everywhere you need to go. If you’re feeling like farming this, you can repeatedly climb up the highest tower in Old Town

Is It Really Necessary? – Bronze

– Kill your first infected

This Trophy is basically story related. You will kill your first zombie during the first task in the game.

 Everybody Dance Now – Bronze

– Simultaneously shock 5 monsters with electricity

There are puddles everywhere in the city. Next to these puddles are electrical poles that have electrical cables laying from them into the puddles. Lure five enemies into the puddle by throwing firecrackers into the puddle. Throw as many as you need to get at least five zombies into the puddle. Once you have enough, pull the switch on the electrical pole to shock the puddle.

Can’t Touch This – Bronze

– Kill 20 enemies in a row without taking damage

There is an easy way to earn this Trophy very early on in the game. When you are sent out to arm the car traps, there will be a very large group of zombies around the second and third cars that you need to arm. Just stand on top of one of the cars and swing away at the zombies that group up near the car. Don’t worry, the zombies won’t climb on the car or damage you.

This is Harraaaaan! – Bronze

– Kill 100 enemies by kicking them off the rooftops/cliffs

You kick or hit enemies and if they fall off of something it counts. Just as long as the fall kills them. This Trophy also doesn’t have to be specifically on rooftops or cliffs. If you can kick an enemy off of something and they die, it will count.

Mouths Wide Open – Silver

– Kill a Volatile

Volatiles are tough to kill. They are also fast and can kill you in only a couple of hits. They are only available at night and can be found roaming everywhere around the city. You may want to wait before you try to kill one until you have better upgrades and weapons. Molotovs and electric fences work well against them, but it will still take a bit to bring ’em down, so be ready for a tough fight when going for this Trophy.

Hush, Hush Now – Silver

– Quiet a Screamer

Screamers are little baby like zombies that scream to damage you and call for other zombies. If you wait too long the scream will kill you. As soon as you see one, you need to kill them immediately. There is actually a story mission that requires you kill one in order to progress, so you’ll get this Trophy one way or another.

BBQ – Bronze

– Stick a burning zombie on spikes

There are spikes laid out all through the city. Once you find some, throw some firecrackers in front of the spikes. Once the zombies are there, throw a Molotov to light them on fire and then just kick or drop kick one of the burning zombies into the spikes. It’s also possible to come across zombies that are already on fire and kick them into the spikes.

A Game of Catch – Bronze

– Kill 50 enemies with throwing weapons

The weapons that are strictly only throwing weapons are only the ones that count toward this. Some of the melee weapons can be thrown by unlocking a skill. Those do not count toward this Trophy. Throwable weapons can either be bought from vendors or made by finding blueprints.

Harran Shooting Club – Bronze

– Kill 50 enemies with shooting weapons

Guns will become available as you progress through the story. This is a Trophy that will be unlocked as you play. Just kill enemies with guns and the Trophy will pop in no time.

Electrified! – Bronze

– Catch 25 enemies in the Electric Fence trap

You will first need to unlock the Electric Fences skill. After you have the skill, the fences will become across the Slums. Lure zombies into the traps with firecrackers and then press Square to to activate the trap and kill the zombies.

Blinded by the Lights – Bronze

– Blind 25 Volatiles with flares or a flashlight

You will need to unlock the UV Flashlight before attempting the Trophy. Once you have it, equip it into your secondary weapon slot. When you see Volatiles, press L2 to activate it and blind them. They aren’t blinded until they cover their eyes with their hands.

High Flyer – Bronze

– Kill 25 enemies using Ground Pound or Drop Attack

Drop Attack is a skill that you have to unlock and is better to use for this Trophy because it’s a one hit kill attack. Once you’ve learned the skill, jump over an enemy and hold R2 to use the attack. If you stab the enemy in the chest and kill them, you’ve done it correctly.

Judo Master – Bronze

– Throw 50 enemies with Grapple

You will have to learn the Grapple skill under the Agility tree. Get near an enemy and wait for them to attack. When they attack, quickly tap X and point R3 either left or right to throw them. You don’t have to kill them, just get into the grapple situation and throw them.

Prom Night – Silver

– Survive night pursuit of level two or higher

Basically, you have to kill zombies at night and get noticed by volatiles. Once you get spotted by them, the diamonds next the radar will turn red and they will be after you (make sure you have two diamonds lit). When that happens, take off running and get away from them. When it says “Pursuit Avoided”, that means you’ve done this successfully.

Enlightened! – Bronze

– Blind 25 enemies in the Light Trap

You’ll be introduced to the light traps very early on in the game. At night, when you’re near a light trap the prompt will come up to press Square to activate. Lure enemies in the area and then activate the trap.

Little Craftsman – Bronze

– Craft your first item

This Trophy is story related.

Master Crafter – Bronze

– Use Blueprints at least 100 times

You’ll find blueprints all over the city and they are needed in order to craft items. You don’t need to find 100 different blueprints. You can craft the same item 100 times if you want. Crafting lockpicks will speed this up as metal is the only ingredient needed and is very commonly found.

Open Sesame – Bronze

– Perform 10 successful Lockpicks

There are locked doors and boxes throughout the game. All you have to do is pick 10 of them. Lockpicks are easily crafted and the locked locks are also common, so, you should have this Trophy fairly quickly.

Everybody Knows Kyle – Bronze

– Reach Survivor Rank lvl 12

See the Trophy “The Legend of Harran” for more details.

The Legend of Harran – Silver

– Reach Survivor Rank lvl 18

Survivor rank is gained by completing missions, side quests, finding collectibles and collecting Relief Packages. The points earned for this are also doubled during night time. So, as long as you’re doing everything, you’ll unlock this. There is one thing to watch out for though, dying. If you die, you actually lose points toward this.

Agile – Bronze

– Reach Agility Prof. Lvl 10

You’ll earn points for this by running, climbing, jumping and completing Agility Challenges. You’ll actually earn this Trophy as you play through the game because you’ll constantly be climbing, running and jumping. These points are doubled during night time.

Strong – Bronze

– Reach Power Prof. Lvl 10

Power points are earned by killing enemies and completing Power Challenges. This is another Trophy that will come as you play. You’re going to be killing enemies a lot, so, you shouldn’t worry about this Trophy. It’ll come naturally.

It’s All in the Writing – Silver

– Find all text collectibles

There are 67 text collectibles to find. 16 Voice Recordings, 17 Battle Journals and 34 Notes. Fortunately, none of these are missable, but they aren’t all available from the start. Some of them will require you to play side quests in order to get into locked areas. Even the ones that are located during missions will be available after you complete the mission in case you miss them. There is free roam after you beat the story, so you can collect them then as well. You can keep track of which ones you have by pressing Square in the inventory menu. You can also press and hold X that will reveal and collectibles that are near you.

I’ve Got Your Back – Bronze

– Complete 1 quest in a co-op game.

See the Trophy “Polyamory” for more details.

Polyamory – Bronze

– Complete 5 quests in a single co-op game with the same 3 partners

There are a couple of ways to earn this Trophy. You and your group can complete five individual missions. Another way is to complete five missions and then invite three people to your game before turning the missions in. Once they join, you can turn in all the missions at once and they will count for finishing five quests with the same group.

If you are playing them all, no one can leave the game. If even one person drops out, the Trophy progress will be reset. Just keep in mind that this has to be done in one single game. It’s not accumulative.

Italian Plumber – Bronze

– Kill an enemy with a wrench, using Vault followed by Drop Attack

You will need to have unlocked the Drop Attack skill and the Vault Skill. After you have those, find and equip a wrench. Once you have all that, press L3 to sprint toward an enemy, then press R1 to Vault over them and then press R2 while you’re in the air to use the Drop Attack.

Gabriel’s Sword – Bronze

– Add a fire elemental effect to a sword or a Khopesh

The Khopesh and swords can either be looted randomly or purchased from vendors. You’ll have to find a blueprint that adds a fire elemental effect. Once you have the blueprint and either weapon, craft the blueprint and attach it to either the sword or Khopesh.

A Long Way Down – Bronze

– Jump to the water from the Infamy Bridge (Slums) at night.

The Infamy Bridge is located on the east side of the Slums. It’s huge and you’ll know it when you see it. Get on the bridge and just run until the giant gap and jump off. There are a lot of zombies on the bridge, so you need to be quick and try to avoid being killed.
