Taking place for three hours between 5am BST to 8am BST on Wednesday, April 22, the PlayStation Network messaging system will be undergoing maintenance, interrupting certain services.
Here’s what will be unavailable during the maintenance across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and the PlayStation Mobile app.
- Sending PSN messages
- Receiving PSN messages
- Deleting PSN messages
- Changing the group message title
- Adding members to a group message
Every other PSN service, including online gameplay, will remain unaffected.
So far, there’s no word on the messaging maintenance extending to North America, but if it does, you can expect the downtime from 9pm PT on Tuesday, April 21 to 12am PT on Wednesday, April 22.
Update: Sony confirmed that the PSN messaging maintenance starts on Tuesday, April 21 at 9pm PT and ends on Wednesday, April 22 at 12am PT.
It remains to be seen if this PSN messaging maintenance will replace the monthly PSN-wide maintenance. If Sony does announce any further downtime, we’ll let you know.
